Who is DSPR
DSPR is an ecumenical and Church-related organization which is an integral part of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC); it was founded following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and the creation of the Palestine refugee problem. DSPR continues to operate in the Palestinian Territories (West Bank and Gaza Strip), Jordan, Lebanon and Galilee.
DSPR has always committed itself to work with Palestinian refugee communities and the neediest among them to promote acceptable decent living conditions, based on Christian witness through direct support, awareness-raising, capacity building, and advocacy in order to guarantee that their basic human rights are being realized and that they live in reconciliation with the larger communities in which they live.
DSPR believes in partnering with all irrespective of race, gender, color, or religion; ensuring transparency credibility and accountability. We envision ourselves as a leading professional Church-related organization that empowers and is empowered by Palestinian refugees.
According to DSPR Strategic Plan 2011 - 2015, our strategic objectives are:
Provide and maintain primary healthcare services to enhance the wellbeing of Palestinian mothers and children.
Provide professional skills training and access to education to empower marginalized Palestinian youth to improve their own economic conditions.
Address and resolve pressing environmental threats facing Palestinian communities to support their better management and preservation of available natural resources.
Mobilize and empower Palestinian and other relevant communities to seek just and equal social and economic rights for Palestinians.
Provide emergency assistance to alleviate the impact of humanitarian situations when required.
